We held our first food pantry event, and everyone was very happy when we handed out the items. Hearing so many words of gratitude reminded us that it was truly worthwhile to organize the food pantry.
At the same time, while we were encouraged by the large turnout—greater than we had anticipated—it also made us keenly aware of the realities faced by people experiencing financial hardship.
