In addition to managing food banks, various contributions to facilities and systems are required.
Using this support framework, 2HJ can work 1-to-1 with companies and foundations that become partners
to accomplish goals and overcome challenges. We're always looking for partners that can help us
reach our project's goals, and whom we can work together with to provide a new, sustainable food bank model.
Harvest Central Kitchen:
Commercial production kitchen
On October 5th, we opened our long-awaited facility, "Harvest Central Kitchen." This central kitchen allows us to reach more people in need. We now prepare bentos for after-school programs and single-mothers along with our current recipients. Each week, our staff and volunteers prepare nutritious and delicious meals. The facility has been approved by the local health department and we have a certified dietitian who runs our operations.
Effective matching of food donations
and recipient agencies
The new matching system was made possible by the generous support of Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo. This system will link food donors, recipient agencies, and other food banks in order for them to share information thus speeding up the matching process.
